A sprawling Japanese-inspired palace map built around a sacred ever-blooming peach tree of colossal size. Buried at its feet are the last seven generations of titans; from the honden’s porch, it rises above the gardens like a titan of its own right. Is this the home of a god, a priest, or a master & his students?
Thoughts
- I feel like anyone so dishonorable as to disrupt the white gravel in their battle deserves divine punishment — or possibly just regular punishment, after-the-fact.
- Look: This is a heist in disguise. There’s two separate vaults. Put the MacGuffin in one of them.
- There are 8,974 steps in the staircase from the base of the Border of Life & Death to the top. Maybe I should do a “giant atmospheric staircase” map.
Contents
- Peach Shrine Palace: A luxurious palace/shrine built around a sacred eternally-blooming peach tree. Hold audience in the great hall, commit unspeakable acts in private chambers, loot the storage, break into the side vault, poison the bath pipelines, raise the fallen buried souls from the corpses, or anger the neglected guest shrine’s god!
- Winter: The peach tree seems to keep the snow away!
- Spring: But the surrounding forest’s blossoms can’t compete with the local go-shintai, now can it?
- Autumn: A season that carries the scent of death upon it.
- Haunted: A quiet mist has settled over a neglected shrine. Nothing here is quite as it seems.
- Haunted Rising: If you bring this variant up in your image viewer & listen closely, you can hear the faint echoes of Thriller playing in the background.
- Hakugyokurou: The Tower of White Jade, in the Netherworld — they say that artists go here when they die! They also say that if the cherry tree’s seal ever fails & it blooms in full, the world will end. A vast forest of cherry trees & little else extends from the borders of the shrine to the edge of this world.
- Canopy Overlays: Built for VTT canopy usage!
- Day/Night Variants: Wherever applicable!
